RYT-200 with Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers International in 2011
Daya is originally from California where she completed her yoga training in a traditional gurukula style retreat setting. After spending a month at the Ashram immersed in yogic lifestyle and practices, Daya chose to become a full-time volunteer with the Sivananda organization and was sent to San Francisco to teach asana classes and contribute to the Center's communal household functions. She was able to continue learning over the next year from guest teachers that came to the yoga center from all over the world and made a pilgrimage to Northern India in 2012 to study yoga, meditation and yogic scripture with elder swamis from the Sivananda lineage.
Daya's next area of study became Ayurvedic healthcare, which is closely intertwined with the system of yoga. She also offers classes and private consultations for those seeking more education on implementing Ayurvedic practices in their lives.
Now she lives in Moscow with Finn and their three young children, whom she devotes most of her time to.
