Andrea Kat (Kat) was a quietly assertive child who fell in love with Pilates at the age of 13, leisurely pursuing it as a hobby (often paired with Hiking, and other outdoor adventures). A year later she was introduced to the ancient art of belly dance. Unlike her previous fitness experiences, belly dance did not come naturally to her and she devoted hours to its practice. Many of her belly dance instructors combined yoga conditioning with her dance training. This cross-training is where Kat's body awareness began.
Now, after years of witnessing yoga improve her dance, Kat decided it was time to deepen her understanding of this practice. Having experienced the profound impact yoga can have on balancing muscular motion, yoga had Kats attention and respect. In addition to improved physical strength and coordination, she saw other benefits such as an increased emotional balance, and peace of mind.
It seemed everything in Kat's life was pointing to her becoming a yoga instructor. Kat pursued Kula: Yoga and Tea's yoga teacher training with a growing passion for meditation, the yoga philosophies, Ayurveda and The Universal Principles of Alignment. Thanks to Kula and its accomplished teachers , Kat is now ready to share what she has learned. She is reaching out to you. Allow Kat to guide you on your yoga journey.
